Grace Covenant Church has partnered with Samaritan’s Purse this year to pack Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Each year shoeboxes full of toys, hygiene items and school supplies are sent to over 170 Countries & territories with many of them being unreached people groups. Local churches use the boxes as ways to reach communities in their areas. The recipients of the boxes are then invited to enter a 12-week discipleship program, The Greatest Journey. To learn more about the Journey of a Shoebox click here. As a result of the discipleship program 1 in 4 boxes result in a Decision for Christ. As a church, we have set a goal of 4,000 boxes packed across all 3 campuses. Boxes will be available for pick up beginning October 8th at each campus. For guidance on what to put in a box stop by one of the tables or check out some suggestions. The $10 donation/ box helps with the collection, processing, shipping, local leader training, and Greatest Gift Gospel Booklets. You can put it in your box or make the donation online if you are wanting to track your shoebox to see where it goes.

We are pushing outside the walls of our church and diving deeper into our surrounding communities. We are called to relationship not only with Jesus but with those in our area. This year for Thanksgiving we will be packing boxes of non-perishable items and delivering them to specific neighborhoods that we are wanting to stand in the gap for. We will be putting the boxes together at the church the morning of November 18th and then heading out in groups to the neighborhoods to deliver the boxes, pray with the neighbors and build relationships. There won’t be signups for the packing event at church but sign up here to be a part of the delivering/outreach team:

Relationships don’t happen by just meeting people one time so we will continue to minister and serve those same surrounding communities at Christmas. This year we are doing a toy drive for those specific neighborhoods. Each house will receive a box of toys for the children and a little something for the adults. The toys will be dropped off on December 9th. There are multiple ways you and your family can get involved. Whether you come to wrap the presents on November 18th or buy a gift for the family there are many opportunities for us to be a blessing.
