Advent week 4

Listen to what i say

Devotional Written By Pastor Paul Turbedsky, Care Pastor

Questions to Ponder

  1. When you think about Advent as a season of listening, what makes that easy for you, and what makes it feel like it's impossible to hear from God?
  2. As you move through this Advent season, what words from God are you treasuring in your heart, and how will your listening transform into worship and action?
  3. How can contemplation and action work together in your faith instead of competing with each other?

Be Still and Listen

We are wrapping up this devotional series the same way we started it: with a listening practice. This week, spend intentional time listening to God. Turn down the noise, silence the distractions, and create space to listen. No agenda. No multitasking. Just attention and expectancy. You have done plenty of talking this season. Be encouraged. God is not quiet because He is absent. He is often quiet because He is inviting you closer.

Journal this week
Take some time this week to journal about your distractions and what they are stealing from your attention. Then imagine what it could look like to replace those moments with opportunities to ponder, the way Mary did.
Less scrolling. More soul-searching. Fewer notifications. More noticing. Be encouraged. Distraction is easy, but intention is transformative.
